This type of martial arts goes all the way back to Egypt around 3000 BC. The sport was introduced to the ancient Olympic Games by the Greeks in the late 7th century BC.
Our founder’s grandfather participated in a boxing competition in 1939 in Egypt. His skill and tenacity led him to a decisive victory with a KO using a phenomenal right hook.
This was actually one of the inspirations that led our founder, Khaled “Konga”, to join the Egyptian Boxing national team. Here, he was trained by international boxing coaches and saw the importance of strength and conditioning for all combat sports.
That means you have the opportunity to use and develop both mind and matter. We teach you how to box like a champion no matter what level you are when you join KONGA. The real value in mastering a skill like boxing is in how it makes the rest of your life much more fulfilling and stress-free!
“I love getting my boxing training in with some of the best to ever coach (Kevin) as well as receiving regular maintenance with their inhouse chiropractor (Dr.Amr). Thank you both for keeping me healthy!” – Moe Azzeh
Finally, you will also learn the arts related to ground maneuvers. This is where you will get acquainted with the unique form of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Once you have your opponent on the ground, your goal will be to choke or force them into submission.
A strong MMA fighter is one who knows the arts relevant to striking, takedowns, and submission. They also know how to transition between each art. This is probably one of the toughest things to do in MMA.
It’s a bold statement, but it is true. If you’re like many MMA fans out there, you’ll have an affinity to a fighter like Khabib. We all want to be like him and other fighters.
At KONGA, we are here with you throughout the entire MMA journey. We will build you up to be a complete fighter striking the right combination of arts and transitions together.
Our emphasis on being a fighter comes from the experience and legacy of our founder’s family tradition. It’s important for everyone to realize that we are “fighters” at heart. For us to build a happy and successful life, we have to fight. Not physically, but as a mindset. Here is what this looks like for you when you join the KONGA family:
If you lose, you think about how to come back stronger than before
Always looking for ways to improve. No room to cry over spilled milk
Attitude of going after your dreams without being arrogant
