Konga Physiotherapy & Chiropractic Returns!
As you may already know, the Ontario government is now allowing physiotherapy and chiropractic clinics to resume serving the public. We’re excited to announce the re-opening of the clinic portion of Konga on a limited schedule beginning this upcoming Tuesday, June 2nd, 2020. We’ll keep you informed as more of our services become allowed and available to the public as well. We’re now located at 4995 Timberlea Blvd. Unit #6, Mississauga, ON L4W2S2. The following is our limited schedule:
Available: Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10am – 5pm
Available: Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 10am – 5pm
We’d like to share with you the detailed measures of hygiene, physical distancing, and infection control we’re taking to make the transition to our clinic an easy and safe one. The following are topics concerning these measures, which are in line with Health Canada’s guidelines for health care practitioners:
We’ll be implementing a one patient at a time policy. This means that at any time, only one patient can be treated by a clinician at any time. Patients who are waiting for their appointment must wait outside of our facility until the previous client has left the facility. If a patient can be treated virtually, we offer that as an option as well. There will also be signage throughout the clinic explaining our procedures for hygiene, physical distancing, and infection control.
Cleaning Practices & Sanitation
Before opening, our clinic will go through a deep, intensive clean. During the transition between patients, the clinician will clean the entire treatment area with a disinfectant spray before calling the next patient to come in. Hand sanitizers will be made available at the front reception area as well as throughout the clinic. Patients are asked to sanitize their hands on the way in, as well as on their way out. Physical distancing is still important in limiting the spread of the virus. This is why we’re limiting how many people can come into the clinic at the same time.
Pre-Screening Clients & Clinicians
A questionnaire will be sent to every patient who is booked to return back to our clinic. The questionnaire has 4 questions that screen for symptoms and risks for Covid-19. All 4 questions must be answered with a “no” for a patient to visit our clinic and receive physiotherapy and/or chiropractic services. Clinicians will also self-monitor their own symptoms. If they present with any, they must notify us and we’ll contact Employee & Occupational Health & Safety the moment we’re informed.
During physiotherapy and chiropractic assessments & treatments, all clinicians will be wearing protective equipment including medical grade face masks and nitrile gloves. These will help prevent any potential spread of germs by the clinician to the patient (and vice versa) at all times by creating a physical barrier. We ask that patients bring their own mask and gloves (if available and possible) to help lower the risk of any potential transmission.
We look forward to re-opening our clinic and getting everyone back to healing, moving, and strengthening their health.
